What is it?
The Daily Cure for me is trying to smell taste touch—really experience— something, each day, that reminds me that I'm alive and, mostly, happy to be here. A small moment that should go a long way, at least in theory.-

Pick me up
It’s now official: when I’m working, I’m not blogging, and vice versa. This girl just finds it too difficult to pull off both at the same time, or at least I did this go round. And I must admit that … Continue reading

What else is there to do?
I admit that I went a little crazy yesterday with the iPhone’s application “Hipstomatic” set on “random,” shooting whatever caught my eye like Dustin Hoffman’s “Rainman” character on a roadtrip in Europe. Colors aren’t true. Images aren’t in full register. … Continue reading
The train for anywhere
For D.L. who dreamed of riding the rails. There are days, no matter how happy you are, when you just feel like going. Anywhere. Every plane that crosses overhead represents a possible escape and a potential surprise destination. “That person, … Continue reading

Beautiful borlotti
I apologize for continually talking about food, but it’s just too fundamental and gorgeous to ignore. Today I was struck, as I always am when they are available, by the sheer graphic perfection of the fresh borlotti beans. Lines from … Continue reading
Let’s talk
I remember when I first moved to Milan and didn’t speak a word of Italian. Woe was me. There I was in the actual capital of gab, and not only did I not speak the language, but I was not … Continue reading
