Urban pattern #2
I had so much fun creating the first Urban Pattern, that I thought I’d give it another whack. For this one, I chose as my starting point, a humble pedestrian ramp on Via Canonica, in Milan. The results are in. … Continue reading

Color Story #9: Edible Winter Roses
It’s been snowing today. So the sky and the general palette of the day are overwhelmed by whiteness (read: cold). And yet. And yet. When I walked into the vegetable vendor’s this morning, I was pleasantly ambushed by the persistent … Continue reading
Tearoom Etiquette for the four-footed set

Mistletoe
Spotted today on the road between Cravant and Auxerre: bare trees dotted with luxurious orbs of olive green mistletoe. A graphic designer couldn’t have done better. All the elements of good design respected in full. Balance. Pattern. Composition. Imbalance. Interruption. … Continue reading

Postcard #19: A schoolboy’s day under the rain
[Spotted today under the rain—school boys in their black and white uniforms inside the “Scuola-in-tram,” a tram that tours the city giving school children glimpses of their own history. Particularly love the wistful children staring out of the window past … Continue reading

Your bottom goes here:
You know how certain objects (or maybe all of them) have a soul? How they call to you, give comfort, listen and ultimately share their lives with you or at least witness important—and incredibly insignificant—bits and pieces of yours? How … Continue reading
