Special delivery: Inter loses to Milan 0-3
My local bar, Ranieri, is decked in black curtains today. Last night in the Derby della Madonnina (any game between the two soccer clubs of Milan), Inter lost to arch rival Milan. A happy day for the black-and-red’s. A day … Continue reading
Time out for quiet contemplation

The Daily Cuppa
Ah, those objects of every day, those inanimate friends—or are they slaves?—that serve us thanklessly before the sun has even brightened the horizon. What can possibly give more comfort than a favorite coffee cup? And a favorite coffee maker to … Continue reading

Milan color story #2: Gray Lady
October is coming to a close, and with it, the gray season is preparing to open. Milan, in all her complex beauty, is about to be revealed to those who love her in her most fitting attire: mist, rain, and … Continue reading
The street #1: Via Palermo
Because the city streets are so texturally rich, varied and unpredictable, I’m including a new category of posts called simply “The Street.” These will be small slideshows, the purpose of which is to bring you with me, street level, wherever … Continue reading
