Heart-day was an infinite five days ago, but still it’s on my mind. Rummaging through my file today, I discovered some pictures I’d been saving to post on the occasion, but had somehow neglected to follow-through on. Must have been too busy eating all those chocolates I received and breathing in deeply the heady perfume of long-stemmed roses. As if… Oh well. My Italian stallion is forgiven. He was far, far away working hard for a living. There’s always next year.
Perhaps you know him, perhaps you don’t, but this year’s Valentine’s post features Italian heart-throb of days gone by, Rossano Brazzi. I’ve seen him in one and only film, Summertime (1955), with Katherine Hepburn, and was inspired enough to do a bit of digging. These are the findings that amused me the most.

God help us (smelling my Not Chocolates and Not roses.) That guy is deeply sexy. Merciful heavens (fans face with notebook) .. I am going to have to go out and lie in the snow for a minute! c
Depends on what you call ‘sexy’, Miss C!! Not worth getting pneumonia lying in the snow!! My era of course . . . but not my kind of ‘sexy’ by a long shot!! Uhuh!! Liked him in ‘Little Women’ in the end . . . . but I like my sex to be a wee bit less obvious 😀 !!
You have just made me laugh out loud from the belly. And I needed that. Yes, indeed, he is/was deeply sexy… just like that boar that’s gonna get Sheila preggers.
Sorry – dead by a mile!!!!
Oh, sugar!! Do hope Sheila will get preggers, of course!! I honestly don’t think ‘Rossano Brazzi’ will make one one iota of dtfferenece ; )!
you have excellent taste in Italians.
So do you!!
I had to laugh out loud…not at your post but at your and Cecilia’s comments to each other. And I agree…WHEW! He is a handsome guy!

He was a seriously sexy man.
Yes he was. And if I’m not mistaken, he didn’t think so.
I have seen him in several movies and he was seriously handsome. Is he still around?
I’m not sure but I think maybe he is. I’ll let you know.
Hate to tell you he departed the world some 20 years ago . . . he was born in 1916 . . . and never really made it in his home country!
Sorry Eha. You’re posts are getting out of order somehow. Yes, you said earlier he was dead by a mile! And I believed you. That, however, arrived after I’d answered Debra that I would let her know. Thanks for telling us! Please know, I don’t have some sort of obsession with Brazzi or even find him a good actor, particularly, I just thought these images of him and the quotes were great for Valentine’s Day. He looks great on screen, though not everyone’s type…I’m sure Hollywood sort of made him what he was. Thanks for all your knowledge!
My apologies: Sunday pm [here] fun!!!!
You don’t need to apologize!! I’m glad for all your comments…it’s my fault they got out of order, b/c somehow they need to be approved first, and I was “behind” in my administrative duties. Where is that “secretary” when I need her!? From now on you shouldn’t require any approval…your comments should just fly straight through!
