I don’t know if it’s the sucky economy and the do-nothing-about-it-Italian government or the fact that it’s Friday and it’s been one helluva long week or if it’s just that I’m sort of tired in an autumnal, why-did-summer-have-to-end way. But I saw this on my morning walk-about and thought: Well, yep. That pretty much sums it up! It made me feel distinctly not-alone and in a much better mood. We’re all toting around something. Baggage. Difficulty. Too many possessions. It’s a human thing.
What is it?
The Daily Cure for me is trying to smell taste touch—really experience— something, each day, that reminds me that I'm alive and, mostly, happy to be here. A small moment that should go a long way, at least in theory.-

And all of it awkward to carry, we need knees and elbows and chins as well as hands and feet. Lucky we have all those things PLUS the good sense to set it all down on a step somewhere so we can have a glass of wine on a friday! and just give it a rest! have a lovely weekend my friend.. c
You said it better than I did! I’m so glad I have readers who can make my posts more interesting than they are! And you beat me to the glass of wine comment…but time zones being what they are, I’m going to beat you to the real thing! It’s that lovely weekend getting underway…
Well, my only advantage, if you can call it that (and I might as well!), is that I’ve had MORE weekends, all told, than y’all–and still counting. Whew. I never was good at numbers. . .
The bent damage of the sign says something too…..
Y’know, you’re right. It does. I hadn’t really noticed that with my conscious mind until just now…now, that you’ve called attention to it. So so true. Funny what we observe and what we miss, even when it’s right in front of us. And even when it’s part of the story.
I love the sign! You are so right, sometimes it is just so heavy. And then the bend in the sign…perfect really. Weekends help…just stopping and forgetting for a spell and then everything gets lighter and we go on! Love your post!
