What is it?
The Daily Cure for me is trying to smell taste touch—really experience— something, each day, that reminds me that I'm alive and, mostly, happy to be here. A small moment that should go a long way, at least in theory.-

Just posting today to let you know—if you haven’t noticed yet—that I’ve added a “Food Images” page to my blog. It’s right up there in the menu next to “Home” and “About.” It’s mostly a compilation of images from my … Continue reading
Savoring the Roman T(heat)er
Today, which was more sweltering than yesterday, I had the unique honor of accompanying my eleven year old’s class on a walking tour of Roman Milan. It was, in a word, fascinating. I could go on and on about the … Continue reading
Bring on the heat
Well. Here we are mid-to-late May, and it feels like summer’s in full swing. At 8:00 this morning, pedestrians were plying the sidewalks, wishing they’d worn less. It’s hot. And in the afternoons, Milan wears its preferred warm weather adjective: … Continue reading
A real palazzo
The word “palazzo” is thrown around loosely here. At the end of the day, it’s used to mean “apartment building.” But there are, in Milan, palazzi which deserve the unavoidable association an English speaker makes with the word “palace.” Here … Continue reading

It’s your (un)lucky day
OK. I meant to post this yesterday, but I got overwhelmed with “things” and, quite frankly, forgot. What a lousy blogger, when I can’t even say things on the days they are relevant, right? Wrong! Because today, I lived through … Continue reading
A postscript to my last post
A comment left in response to the last post questioned the connection between the color magenta and Paul Rand. This connection is clearly a leap of my own (messy attic that it is) brain. For some reason, the color magenta … Continue reading
Write Man Ray’s life story
In my post this morning, I mentioned as an afterthought the interactive online competition to create the imaginary biography of Man Ray. After investigating further, I happened upon this page of the competition which illustrates more precisely how it works. … Continue reading
